Workstation Ergonomics
To maximize productivity and efficiency at your workstation it is the “often forgotten” smaller items that make the difference! Items such as:-
Keyboard Mechanisms and Trays
Five styles and price points of these are displayed at this location. Ergonomically, while even the least expensive will be beneficial to you, those that have a fully articulating mechanism with a keyboard tray that offers both positive and negative tilt and a mouse arena that also pivots horizontally and vertically, is the most ergonomic. Obviously, the more adjustments that the keyboard and tray have, the more they are likely to fit the most people in the most comfortable way!!
Monitor Stands and Arms
These items come in designs which fit the older CRT screen or the newer flat monitors but both allow height and distance adjustment so that the eyes are in line with the centre of the top third of the screen and the screen is approximately 26” to 30” in distance from the eyes. The newer and more sophisticated monitor arms can be mounted in several ways e.g. clamped to the work-surface; mounted on the wall or panel; screwed to the top of the work-surface etc.
CPU Holders
These help to raise the CPU off the floor thus helping to keep it further away from dust and dirt but, also, bringing its accessibility closer to you preventing you from having to bend over as much to access the CD slot etc. Also, cables and plug-in points become easier to get at.
Footrests
Footrests can benefit ones sitting posture helping to maintain proper back support while also taking pressure off the underside of the thighs and promoting better circulation
The Chair
It is likely the single most important ergonomic item in your workstation and is the only one which actually supports your body while performing your tasks. Proper seat and back height, back angle, lumbar support height, arm height and correct foam densities are all important factors for your comfort, productivity and efficiency. Here, at ABCO Business Interiors, we are pleased to be able to provide you with a large variety of “ergonomic” seating styles and price points to suit your needs!
